1984 Chevy Corvette – There is a very long lag between the third and fourth generation corvettes. The third generation Corvette stayed on the production line from 1968 to 1982.

When the news will be produced in the fourth generation Corvette sticking out, there is a lot of wild speculation about it. Some predict the fourth generation Corvette will appear by carrying the engine in the middle. Others thought the Corvette would use a rotary type machine like the one in the Mazda.

And finally the fourth generation Corvette was launched… Not as radical as many people have predicted. It still carries a small-block V8 Chevy front engine with rear wheel drive. In the first year the engine was only able to produce 205hp.

But a few years later after this engine used a new injection fuel system, power and engine performance jumped dramatically. Then began the era of 375hp ZR-1 engine.

The third generation ended its production in 1982. There was no Corvette produced during 1983. Chevy decided to wait until 1984 before launching its newest model.

Some sources claim that strict emission regulations cause a decline in the latest type of launch schedule. Others say that the real problem is the quality of products.

But we know one thing that the entire Corvette 1983 prototype was destroyed except for one, the white Corvette that resided in the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green.
