The Dodge viper has a long history. People often disagree in defining viper generations. Broadly speaking, they can be divided into two groups.
The first defines the viper generation as follows;
Gen l [92-96]
Gen ll [97-02]
Gen lll [03-06]
Gen IV [08-10]
Gen V [13-17]
While others define viper generation as follows;
Gen l; Phase l [92-96], Phase ll [97-02]
Gen II; Phase l [06-06], Phase ll [08-10]
Gen. lll; [13-17]
So let’s not worry about it all, just by mentioning the year of manufacture, it’s better to be recognized.
According to Dan Knott director of SRT Chrysler Group, “Demand for a Dodge Viper Coupe started the day we introduced the Dodge Viper SRT10 Convertible in 2003”. For information SRT stands for Street and Racing Technology, and the number ten behind it describes the v10 engine used by the car.
The Dodge viper produces several variants including the special edition, such as the mamba series.
This Mamba edition Dodge Viper was produced around 2003 – 2005, they are present in a convertible form that is quite aggressive. Only about 200 cars are produced, and there are only 50 – 60 cars in America while the rest are scattered throughout the world.
The Mamba edition is the only Viper version ever made, even today, that doesn’t have all the black interiors. The black leather seat is fitted with a suede accent, the beautifully stitched interior has red trim everywhere, and some accessories with polished aluminum accents. Very pleasing to the eye. Everything is beautiful except for a slight burning sensation in the legs.
Dodge viper SRT-10 is very easy to be invited to dance winding, rotate 360 degrees, or just to burn out. This is backed up by a fully independent suspension that is ready for the road or racetrack, a large four-wheel disc brake package, power steering, and super-sticky Michelin Pilot tires. It’s a total power package that will make this collectable also your favorite day track.
Under the hood the big red valve covers and twin-plenum intake are factory packages that look fiercely imposing.
The roar of the 8.3L OHV V10 engine can produce 510 horsepower at 5600 rpm. Equipped with six-speed manual transmission, this car can accelerate from 0-60 mph in less than 4 seconds, and 0-100-0 mph in the mid-12-second range.
Here’s the 6-speed Tremec and statistics of this car;
1st gear: 60 mph in 3.8 seconds
2nd gear: 100 mph in 8.36 seconds
3rd gear: 135 mph in 11.8 seconds (1/4 mile)
Top speed: 209 mph
0 to 100 to 0 in 12 seconds
I don’t think you will have time to use 6th gear. Moreover, it feels like an ordinary overdrive gear, overburdened..
In this Dodge viper SRT-10 edition, you can find lot of features such as;
AM / FM Radio
Top Convertible Manual
Heated leather seats
Anti-Lock Brakes System
Four Wheel Disc Brakes
Everything you get is worth every penny you spend.
